PEER - Public Endpoint Entities Registry
PEER is envisioned as a lightweight, global registrar for SAML Metadata representing both SAML and non-SAML endpoints (e.g., OpenID, IMI). It is intended as a focused activity to catalyze international use of federated identity. The service is not intended to be a replacement for federation or inter-federation, but is intended to be a tool supporting such activities.
PEER software, released in September 2011, can be tested online. As a result of the initial tests, requests were made for new features to be added, please refer to the Milestones below for further information.
Discussion on the PEER service model will start at the beginning of 2012; at the end of 2011 an analysis of sustainability for PEER will be prepared.
