Discussion Items

  1. Open actions reviewed.
  2. REFEDS Survey - It may be worth to do a similar survey with research infras to get the counter part of it.
  3. Strategy - A discussion on the the mission and impact of REFEDS took place during the REFEDS meeting that took place during the T&I days in Amsterdam. Check the REFEDS blog for ideas on the mission statements. Scott was surprised about some of the statements being more fedration-centric. It is important to validete the message with a wider audience than those represented in the room.
  4. A revision of the working groups took place during the Dec meeting in Amsterdam. We are looking for more people involved in OIDC. Entity category support and R&S are in scope; R&S revision planned for 2018. ORCID went rather quiet, Heather is going to follow up with the WG. The service catalogue was presented by Heather at the Tech Exc meeting and but there was no consensus on this. During the meeting in Dec in Ams, there seems to be consensus on start to look at a catalogue aimed at fed ops. There is also a requirement from research communities to see what services they can access.
Miro had a word of caution about the eduTEAMS discovery and how this would work with federations discoveries.
Tom noted that it would be good to get a sense of which WG will be ending.
A REFEDS proposal was submitted for APAN to get travel funding.
  5. AoB - Thomas noted that some of the results of the consultation were applied. Nicole will check; the aim will be to push v1.0 via eduGAIN.
