Notes

  1. Open Actions
  2. Administrivia
    1. We need to update eduPerson to adapt to a new versioning system and fix typos; need to find the history document that looks at previous versions so we can determine what version number we should be using.
    2. Suggest we incorporate into one major release:
      1. eduPersonDisplayPronoun (assuming it passes consultation)
      2. reordering attributes to match OID numbers
      3. remove all protocol-specific examples
      4. release the attribute dictionary as a related body of work
      5. release the SAML profile as a related body of work
  3. SCHAC 1.6
    1. This is definitely a minor version change
    2. Consensus is to move the deprecated attribute to its own section
    3. Should schacMotherTongue be renamed to schacFirstLanguage? This should go out to the schema-discuss mailing list for discussion.
  4. Subcommittee status
    1. voPerson - no update
    2. eduPersonDisplayPronoun - attribute spec is done; group currently working on best practice guidance
  5. Status of splitting the eduPerson spec into core and supplemental
    1. Splitting Protocols From Schema Documents
      1. eduPerson 2021-11 minus SAML bits
      2. The SAML profile for eduPerson attributes: http://docs.oasis-open.org/security/saml/Post2.0/sstc-saml-attribute-x500-cs-01.html
    2. Do we publish parts of the attribute dictionary appropriate to eduPerson? who would look at this? Groups like the ALA Core Federated Authentication group might find this useful. It might not be as useful to developers and IdP/SP operators. Suggest that we order the list based on OID, which will break alphabetical order but will be easier to maintain.
      •  Keith Hazelton  will add the section 3 attributes into the dictionary
