| 30 min | 2025 Work Plan Preparation - approval | All | Discussion - ROR - the description doesn't really show the complexity under the surface. Whatever is in the metadata will have to include the ROR ID; is it too circular? Is the ROR data rich and current? We don't fully understand the source of RORs, who maintains it, or how accurate it is. Do they just want a placeholder for the value in metadata, or do they want to do more? It's one thing to put it in the metadata, and it's another to have it populated in a way that's usable for others. We would like to see more discovery work to understand more if/how people would find this useful and what it would take for orgs to add this information to their entity. What use cases served as the origin for this request?
- Update REFEDS MFA Profile - how does the group frame this? the MVP is to add another value to signal phishing-resistant MFA; that allows backwards compatibility. Another option is to explore how to define this as appropriate for R&E. May also want to consider shifting to "strong authentication" rather than "MFA".
- Adapting InCommon Interoperability - the expectations aren't ready yet; propose pushing this back to 2026
- Profiling OpenID Federation for global R&E - probably too soon for this as well; the question is how to use that spec (i.e., build the tooling). There is work in eduGAIN about this also; at most it should happen there rather than REFEDS. Will discuss further at TIIME.
