Heather sent a suggestion to the SC that we have a single governance board
Scott suggests adding something about the membership that there is a mechanism to try and make sure the membership represents the full spectrum of stakeholders that are impacted by the schemas (e.g., research needs a seat at that table)

Sirtfi+ Registry
Not all federations can support SIRTFI. Some individual institutions want/need to assert SIRTFI directly. The SIRTFI+ registry would allow for individual institutions to assert SIRTFI outside the usual federation metadata. It would be a unique stream of metadata.
This was a contentious item at the REFEDS meeting in Orlando. There is tension building between fed ops and the SIRTFI+ proposal.
Might be less contention about who operates this if the purpose and parameters of the registry were more clearly understood.
One item to be clarified: The metadata will not be re-inserted into the eduGAIN metadata feed.

Can REFEDS send a more official note to fed ops requesting they support this entity? Not sure how effective this would be; some large federations have already indicated they will not move on this.
Nicole Harris will draft a letter on behalf of the SC to send to the CEO (or equivalent) of federations that are not currently supporting SIRTFI
Need to focus on the right goals, roles, and responsibility and let the operator fall out of that. The goal here is to enhance trust.

Nicole will reach out to sponsors at the end of this year with a report and to give them a chance to say if there’s anyone they would like to nominate for the SC (they do not get to choose). She will also reach out to Miro and Thomas to see if they would like to continue.
Heath: Should we campaign to get more sponsors? Nicole does have something in the survey about sponsorship. If SC members have other ideas, please let Nicole know.
