Welcome to the REFEDS Wiki


The aim of REFEDS (Research and Education FEDerations) is to exchange Identity Federation processes, practices and policies and to discuss ways to facilitate inter-federation work. REFEDS aims at collecting, disseminating and (when possible) harmonising the procedures and policies followed by the participating federations.

REFEDS addresses those Identity Federations operating in the field of research and higher education. However REFEDS participants are committed to reaching outside the research and education community and to liaise whenever possible with eGov and eScience similar initiatives.


REFEDS activities are open to anybody operating an Identity Federation and involved with federation policies and practices and privacy issues.  The participant agreement is available on the REFEDS website.
